Ethlyn Louise Harthman-Lindqvist Hall, died on May 5, 2012 at the age of 95. Her funeral service will be Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cruz Bay, St. John, Virgin Islands. The viewing is at 9 a.m. with the service at 10 a.m.

She was known as “Miss Ethie” by those who went to school with her in her young school days. Mrs. Hall was born on June 6, 1916 in Susannaberg, St. John, to Emily Louise Harthman and Carl Stanley Lindqvist. She was a Head Start teacher, entrepreneur and proud mother of four children; Phyllis, Samuel, Victor and Elsa Hall.

Mrs. Hall was very much involved in the St. John and St. Thomas communities. She was a Past-President and founding member of the Business and Professional Women on St. John in 1965.

She was owner and proprietor of Hillcrest Guesthouse in Cruz Bay, built in 1966, where she accommodated people from all over the world. She later resided in Peter Bay for many years before moving to Miami, Florida.

She is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Hall-Brin, and Elsa Hall; one son, Samuel H. Hall Jr.; granddaughters, Janov Brin, Tanya Wernicke-Muldrow, and Yassin Hall; greatgrandchildren, Jaden and Jordan Brin, Dominic Muldrow, Roumell Augustine, Aubrey Warner Jr., and Marik, Yamisha Young, and the Lindqvist and Harthman families on St. Thomas, St. Croix, New York and abroad.
