Rotary Club Postpones ‘Flavors’ Event Until 2020

‘Flavors’ event offered numerous tasty treats at the Westin St. John in 2016.

The Rotary Club of St. John regrets to announce that “Flavors” will be postponed one more year and will not take place on Nov. 23 as scheduled due to continuing refurbishment at The Westin St. John Resort Villas during the lead up to the busy Thanksgiving holiday.

The Rotary Club thanks the over 60 St. John businesses and individuals that have agreed to donate food, beverages and silent auction items for “Flavors” this year. The support of this event has been heartwarming, and the members of the Rotary Club of St. John are very grateful to be part of such a giving community.

Harry Daniel, president of the Rotary Club of St. John, said, “While we are disappointed, we understand that it takes longer than you think to finish repairs after the 2017 storms. We wish The Westin of St. John Resort and Villas well in their refurbishment efforts and look forward to having “Flavors” at the resort next November, the Saturday before Thanksgiving.”

Over the next few weeks the Rotary Club of St. John will be busy unravelling this event by refunding tickets and returning donations. If anyone has purchased tickets or donated items and does not hear from the Rotary Club of St. John, please send an email to info@rotarystjohn.org.

About Flavors: “Flavors” is held the Saturday before Thanksgiving each year. Flavors gives attendees a chance to sample the best cuisine the islands have to offer. To add a bit of fun, there is a “People’s Choice Awards” for Best Appetizer, Best Entrée, Best Dessert, and Best Mixology. Ticket holders get to vote for their favorites. Drinks, music and dancing as well as a silent auction with wonderful prizes add to this lively and entertaining evening. The silent auction, ticket sales and donations directly benefit St. John community efforts.
